Kids and Cleaning!

I hate cleaning! I hate it with a capital H.... Only problem is that I really love having a clean house. Therein lies the problem. Add to that the fact that with 5 little dirt trackers living in my house it is really hard to keep on top of the cleaning. So, my solution is to enlist the army. The dirt trackers themselves that is!

And before you ask, yes, initially when we started this there were complaints.... And we do get "my arm is sore", "this makes my nose itchy" or my recent favourite "I think this cleaning is crushing my spirit" (from Mr 7). But after a year and a bit of the Saturday morning cleaning routine we finally have some of them at a point where they can clean to an acceptable level.  So this morning here is how it ran in the F&F house... Mr 8 fed the baby whilst the others did a quick tidy. Mr 7 unpacked the dishwasher, restacked then wiped the benches before giving the lounge a dust (that kid is a machine!), Mr 5 tidied the shoes in the entry cupboard, re-stocked the toilet paper and bought all the washing baskets down to the laundry. Mr 8 (after finishing feeding the baby) cleaned the toilets and did the rubbish. Miss 10 cleaned the bathroom (we use norwex so no chemicals!) and then dressed the baby! While Mr & Mrs F vacuumed and mopped and ticked over the washing.

And if you want to know how well can a 10 year old clean the bathroom... She did a stellar job!

Then off to a local book sale for a treat! Yay... Clean house and cheap books... Perfect day!
